About

Volunteers Without Borders (VWB), formed in 2003 by SIF-Cambodian Alumni, works to promote volunteerism among young people through community services.
The Singapore International Foundation (SIF) has given great opportunities to 18 Cambodian students to attend the SIF-ASEAN Student Fellowship Program for four batches from 2001 to 2004. A part from this, two other Cambodian student representatives were also provided an opportunity to attend the International Student Symposium (ISS) in 2005. Through the unique 20-week experiences from the SIF-ASEAN Student Fellowship Program in
Singapore, the deep understanding of social works and the spirit of volunteerism has been growing in our hearts from then on.
Community services and other volunteerism activities with some small projects have been conducted with active participations from all the SIF-Cambodian alumni. By having conducted some activities in the society with volunteers and Cambodian youth, in late 2003 we decided to establish an organization which is a non-governmental and non-profit organization in order to have our own identity for the sustainability of the project and to meet our main objective which is to work and promote the spirit of volunteerism among Cambodian youth through community services.
Meetings and discussions have been conducted many times among the four batches of SIF-Cambodian alumni in order to work on the legal process to legalize this organization..
Our Goal is to promote the spirit of volunteerism in order to develop our community and what we do to achieve this goal is to encourage youth involvment in voluntary activities or community services as many as we can.
I am so impressed by all the activities VWB has achieved so far. I understand that each member must have work with all their best to reach the objective of the project. I wish I had jointed the recent project before I came here. However, I am here trying to do sth for the community as well. This month and next month, there are more events to happen, so wait for the news from me. I will write you more as soon as I finish everything.
Cheer !
